Donate today to help to launch Bonfire Media Collective. We are a worker-owned business that tells stories to celebrate our shared communities, visions, and victories. We do video, photography, graphic design, social media campaigns, trainings, and communications strategy, and we’ve worked with dozens of clients in the Philadelphia area. After two years of being incubated by the Media Mobilizing Project, we’re ready to become an independent business.

We’re excited to work with you as Bonfire Media Collective, but we also need your help. Starting a business is expensive, and none of us has the funds to bankroll our expenses out of pocket. That’s why we’re counting on you to help us get off the ground.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help cover our costs to start up, from legal fees, to software and equipment, to rent and utilities. Can you help us get there?

We are filmmakers, writers, communicators, strategists, organizers, educators, musicians and artists with deep roots in this region. Many of us came together for the first time as collaborators on Media Mobilizing Project’s community media productions.

We’ve been working together as a collective for the last two years with clients including the Mural Arts Program, Head Start PA, Philadelphia Writing Project, Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance, Rutgers University AFT-AAUP, Food Moxie, and more. Last year we brought in $60,000 in revenue, and we think we can grow quickly, but most businesses lose money in their first year, which is why we need your help. Donate today.

We started Bonfire as a worker-owned business to create a means to ensure fair pay and respectful working conditions in an industry that is plagued by low wages and long hours. As worker-owners, we’re taking on the responsibilities, risks, and rewards of owning a business together.

We’re doing this because we believe in community. We’re living our values in the stories we tell, and in the way we run our business. Today we’re calling on you as part of our community to help us make our vision a reality.
