Bones’ orthopedic surgery
Donation protected
Hey y’all this is Bones he is just over a 1 years old and in need of his third orthopedic surgery to save his back leg. I found Bones at the end of my driveway (off a major highway) almost completely lifeless with two broken legs, a punctured lung and covered in road rash. Luckily I work at a vet clinic and our incredible team was able to heal the front leg with a splint and the femur was repaired by using a metal rod in surgery. It has been over 9 months since the second surgery where the rod was removed and the bone had officially healed. However in the past few months we have struggled with keeping his scar fully closed and clear of infection. Recent X-rays have revealed that the wire used during the first surgery is causing internal irritation and must be removed for the tissue to fully heal. Due to the extent of the injuries and previous procedures the removing of the wire will be very complex and requires a specialist. We know there are so many furry friends in need of help so we don’t need much but anything you could do would mean the world to us. Bones has been such a light in my life and everyone’s who meets him and he needs this surgery so he can keep being the goodest of boys!! Thank you so much!
