Over the last two years, our sweet disco-dumpling-cocktail bar has become a home for our guests, due in no small part to the staff that we have. We are continually impressed by how warm, hardworking, and talented they are. The response from our guests and the entire Valencia Street neighborhood has been incredibly welcoming and it's been so much fun being a part of the neighborhood.
Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Bon Voyage! made the decision earlier this week to close our doors for the foreseeable future in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The importance of the health of our staff and our guests can’t be overstated, and social distancing is so crucial to keeping everyone safe now.
This, however, leaves all of our staff without income and with bills still to pay. With this effort, we are hoping to do anything we can to help offset some of the costs of living, and to assist everyone in weathering these tough times. Every cent raised through this will be split evenly among the entire staff. It will help our front and back of house team (barbacks, prep cooks, food runners, line cooks, porters, servers and bartenders alike) by relieving a little bit of financial stress.
As our good friend Alfie said, “There are so many bars suffering from the same chain of events and I would like to applaud all of you who have been able to donate to all of our causes. You are breathing life into our industry when we need it most!”
To everyone who has supported Bon Voyage! in any way, thank you. You are the reason that we do what we do, and we hope to be back soon eating Chinese food, drinking tropical drinks and dancing the night away. Until then, be safe, be well, and keep taking care of each other.
