Hope for Bethany

Anyone who knows Bethany understands that she is a compassionate, devoted, and loving mother, daughter, and friend. She has been on the helping side more times than I can count. Her strength and generosity has touched so many lives, but now she needs your help. As many of you know, on June 4th Bethany began her journey with debilitating seizures that have turned her world upside down. In a six week period she has faced MRI scans, MRA scans, several EEG tests, all with no answers to lead to understanding or treating her seizures. A series of medication has so far been unable to stop the seizures that have taken over her life. Because of these seizures she is unable to work, and the mounting medical bills have drained most of her funds. She is preparing to undergo extensive testing and hospitalization with epilepsy and cardiologist specialists. We ask for as many thoughts and prayers during this difficult time for Bethany, as well as her family. If you would like to help support her journey, you may do so on this donation page. We are also hoping to give Bethany the gift of a garden, so that she may have a place of peace. If you would like to donate your time or would like to donate supplies to help with this project, please let us know. January 2015 update: Hi all! After 7 months of searching for answers with doctors by the handful, we have made the decision to take Bethany's care to the Mayo Clinic. We have a few appointments here first to get arrangements made and to ensure travel is safe, but her application has been submitted and the ball will roll quickly thereafter. We have increased our goal as part of the "Get Bethany to Mayo" portion of the journey. We know that the deductibles will be met in her stay there, so it will be another financial hit. Thankfully Mayo will work with us on paying this. The more immediate need is the costs involved to obtain records, arrange airfare, and transportation that may be necessary. She has graciously been offered a place to stay while visiting the Clinic by an employee. We are so excited about this next step, and ask you continue to pray for answers and recovery. Much love.
