Boinga Bobs House Restoration

Donation protected
Boinga Bob is not just a local Warburton icon; he and his house are famous worldwide. His 'Outsider Art' home is unique and building his Tibetan inspired dwelling has been his greatest life work. Every nook and cranny has been created from a place of love and compassion for all living beings, as anyone who has been there or met Bob knows.

Bob and his house are both getting on in years and they are starting to wear out. A remarkable set of events recently saw Bob survive a heart attack in Cambodia. Since then he has undergone major surgery back in Australia, so is fortunately still with us.

His home however, after decades of wet Warburton weather, is starting to deteriorate significantly and has drawn the attention of the local council, who wish it to be brought up to standard building codes. They have presented Bob with a Structural Assessment Report of almost 150 pages which needs to be dealt with appropriately.

Bob is unable to do this alone; physically and financially.

After several meetings with the council, Bobs friend Paul Mac has concented to take over the role of Project Manager and has committed to see the works completed so Bob can stay in his home safely. Another local, Claire Bamford, who first met Bob in 1989, has agreed to take on the role of Treasurer, so as to assist with raising the funds needed to purchase the building materials needed.

This massive undertaking will not be successful without the support of the local community. All time donated by volunteers assisting on location and financial donations of any size, will be gratefully received with humble thanks.

Funds raised will be spent on; temporary fencing ($900 for 6 months), a registered builder,  drawing up plans for the deck rebuilding/sub framing, council permits, skip hire, and last but not least - building materials.
