In loving memory of Robert Carassco

Donation protected
It was a hot and sunny summer day, one that most people would like to spend with their families outside; laughing, smiling, loving one another. Robert Carrasco however spent his day working, more specifically doing what he loved to do. He was a dedicated ironworker from local 433 who took great pride in his trade. He was working at the Pasadena, CA plaza across the street from the Pasadena Playhouse when he fell 15 feet and in consequence suffered a terrible brain injury, skull fracture, and multiple bleeds within his brain. But in true Robert fashion he did not succumb to his injuries quickly, he fought for 7 long days before the doctors pronounced him "brain dead" on July 13, 2014. Before Robert returned home to our Heavenly Father his organs were donated in hopes that he would save a life. His donation in fact saved 5 lives. Robert is survived by his 7 year old son Robert "Bubba" Carassco, 9 month old daughter Scarlett Carassco, amazing girlfriend Alyssa, adorning mother Dolores, and his beloved sister Rebecca. However, he is also survived by the many others that he impacted throughout his lifetime. Those that will go to bed at night and remember something kind Robert once did for them, those that will wake up in the morning and think about his infectious smile. His spirit will live within us all. This does not soften the blow for his family however. Memories are only a bandage for the broken hearts they are left with. Especially the hearts of his two children. Their hero was taken from them far too soon. Robert had every intention to be apart of every single moment in their lives both the big and the small. We know that Robert won't, he will remain with his children forever, in spirit. Roberts family ask at this time that you find it in your hearts to be a little like Robert today; selfless, giving, thoughtful, optimistic, kind, hardworking, and loving. All and any donations to help with; a respectable burial, hospital bills, and to help his girlfriend and children get back on their feet will be greatly appreciated. We leave you with this, a passage written by Robert's step dad before his donation took place: Robert Carrasco born 11-2-89. Son, Grandson, brother, uncle, and father. He is survived by his girlfriend and his two beautiful children: 9 month old Scarlett and 7 year old Robert "Bubba". Robert was full of joy and love. He cared for his family with all his heart. His feelings were strong and unshakeable towards his children and family. He believed in God, family and friends he was generous, unselfish, brave and fearless. When he walked the iron skeleton of the building he was "on top of the world". He believed he was helping build America. Had he served in the military he most likely would have earned the Purple Heart for bravery and courage under adversity. His love for his mother was deeper than any ocean. And his hopes and dreams were higher than any mountain. He was a defender of the weak and the needy. His integrity was not for sale. His beliefs and ideas were unmoveable. His actions demonstrated to everyone how to love not only in words but by actions. He is and will always be our hero.
