Boerne Family Battles Brain Cancer

Kim Hodge is a loving, hardworking mother of three whose life was turned upside down in May when doctors discovered three tumors on her husband John's brain.

Following a car accident, which totaled the family car, a scan revealed three cancerous tumors on Johns brain.  Doctors were able to remove one of the tumors and prescribed radiation treatment to shrink the others.  John has lost the use of his legs, left arm and peripheral vision.  He requires 10 radiation treatments and must be transported by ambulance at a cost of $6200.

John can not walk or sit up and requires care 24/7.  While they have help from home health aids for a couple of hours each week, the bulk of the care falls on Kim and her children.  Everyone pitches in and together they care for John.  They've negotiated a lower cost for the ambulance service and took over yard work to reduce the cost of rent in an attempt to help offset mounting living and medical expenses.

Kim, an employee at Hill Country Daily Bread and her service minded family are the ones usually taking care of others; however, now it is Kim's family who needs the help.  Please donate to this family as well as share their story and keep the Hodge family in your prayers.
