My husband Bob has suffered from severe headaches and pain for the last two years. Several tests have been run and they come back normal. Of course, his quality of life has been affected which can result in many depressing days.

The discussion of CTE has come up with many of his doctors. He has the opportunity to go to a clinic out-of-state for some experimental treatments which has not been approved by the FDA, and is not covered by insurance. His first treatment is July 3, 2017.

CTE stands for Chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and is a condition of progressive degeneration of the brain tissue which can be the result of a few to several concussions for athletes. The symptoms of CTE may take years or even decades to develop, but when they do the results can be life-changing for the individual and his loved ones.

Bob is a very proud man, and he is not going to be a happy camper if he finds out that I'm posting a gofundme campaign, but a nurse at the hospital suggested it because she is aware of our medical out-of-pocket expense for the past 2 years.
