Bob's Battle: Alzheimer's Disease

Donation protected
"How will I be able to count my life? Decades, months, hours, minutes?"

Bob was a rock.  A true hero.  23 years on the St. Paul Fire Department but his greatest accomplishment is his family. A firm but gentle dad to my best friend Nicky, a compassionate, loving husband to Cathy, and a spirited, playful grandpa to Marissa and Madison.  That big guy everybody gravitates to.  To him, family is everything and he took care of them all.

Sadly, five years ago, things began to change. Aging is one thing but Bob's sudden, bitter challenges were explained with one terrible word: Alzheimer's.  Not one to wallow in self-pity, Bob kept his chin up. He continued to embrace life and even the new realities he would soon face.

In the past six months, Bob's disease has stolen much.  Forced to trade places with his beautiful wife, she is the one now protecting him. Forgetting if you took your pills is one thing ...forgetting how to swallow is another. His family has watched, helpless, as their champion began to fade.

Bob's disease is now in its final chapter. Heartbroken, Cathy and Nicky have been forced to place him in memory care, the expense forcing Cathy to give up her home.  They are taxed emotionally, surrounded with an unknown future and facing a mountain of sudden medical debt.

Will you help me ease their financial burdens? No amount is too small and every penny is very appreciated.

Thank you so much!
