<div>A helping Hand on Bobby Hallligan’s journey:

<div>Bobby is a young 19-year-old from Wexford in Ireland. He is a unique character, who can only be described as a gentleman. He has an infectious love for life, and he is truly loved by his family and many friends. These friends range from 8 – 80 years old. A gifted singer who could get any crowd going with his rendition of ‘Rattlin Bog’. Bobby adored his little springer, Ollie, and the two would trod through fields for hours on end together. Bobby’s busy lifestyle included his love for jiving, horse-riding and working. Nevertheless, Bobby always had time to ‘help lads out’.

<div>On the 19th of October 2024, Bobby’s family and friend’s world was turned upside down when he was admitted to ICU in Wexford General Hospital following a tragic event. Here, he was placed in an induced coma. Bobby fought so hard when all the odds were against him. Four weeks later, he was transferred to St. Marys Ward in Wexford, where he would spend Christmas Day and his 19 th birthday surrounded by family, friends and the caring staff of St. Mary’s Ward. His strong will and determination helped him to fight many infections along the way. Bobby’s family and friends will forever be grateful for the support and care he received in Wexford general.

<div>Bobby’s MRI results were devastating, showing a significant brain injury. Thus, affecting every aspect of his daily life. Currently Bobby remains in a disorder of consciousness, showing little awareness of the world around him. He requires 24-hour care, and he is PEG fed. These circumstances are devastating for a young 19-year-old.

<div>In March 2025, Bobby was transferred to the National Rehabilitation Hospital, where he worked extremely hard alongside the staff of the NRH to take his very first breaths independently (following decannulation of his tracheostomy). Bobby was later discharged in September 2025 to a care home in Wexford.

<div>The fantastic team in the care home go above and beyond for Bobby every day. Their kind, compassionate and professional manner is outstanding. No ask is too big in this friendly environment.
</div>

<div>Despite this, the therapies that Bobby requires to thrive come with a huge cost. The family had hoped that they wouldn’t need to raise funds and that Bobby would have made a full recovery. Unfortunately, that is not the present case.
</div>

<div>With the adequate support and therapies, improvements can be made for years following an acquired brain injury. In just a short while Bobby has proven this. It’s transparent, these improvements are fuelled by Bobby’s circle of friends. They keep him up to date with the latest news and stories, they sing to him, play him music and

<div>offer him encouragement. As Bobby is such a people person, these visits help him in more ways than we know, they are undoubtedly a huge support for Bobby’s progress.

<div>We are now fundraising to give Bobby the best possible chance. Your donations will directly fund specialist private therapies, equipment and treatment. These funds will also help with vehicle and transport costs for his custom-made wheelchair, allowing him to travel. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us continue Bobby’s
