Bobby Coats Fund for Colon Surgery

Bob Coats, or as many of you know him as Los Bobbys of The Belair’s Rock and Soul Band, was recently told he needs major surgery to remove a large part of his colon. Doctors have found two large growths that need to be removed as soon as possible. The surgery is quite extensive and he will be in the hospital for 8 to 10 days. Recovery will be 3 to 4 months, and during this time he will not be able to work, drive, play his drums or sing. His schedule surgery is September 13.

Suddenly, with no notice, Bob was laid-off from his job of 13 years, without any severance pay retirement pay or any offer to continue to pay for his insurance so he can have his surgery. (His employer was aware of the upcoming surgery.) Bobby needs your help to continue his insurance so he may still have his surgery as planned, as well as help through the next few months when he’ll not be able to work. He has applied for unemployment, but that won’t begin until the beginning of September if he’s lucky and that will not be enough to cover the added cost of insurance.

There is also a possibility that Bob will need to undergo a second surgery a few months down the line. Bob’s amazing wife Janice is working diligently to figure out how to keep them afloat, but with only one income contributing to the household she knows it isn’t enough to continue Bob’s insurance. She is concerned for her Husband who she knows desperately needs to have this surgery as it could be a life-saving surgery.
