Bobbie Serafin’s Leukaemia battle

Hi my name is Amanda and I’m fundraising for my brother Ben and his family.

With Ben and Elkie's permission, and at the request of many thoughtful friends and family, this page has been started as a way of assisting their family and to show our support.

Last Thursday, our little Bobbie Rose Serafin (4 years old), was diagnosed with a serious form of childhood cancer (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia).

Although the prognosis for Bobbie is looking positive, the 2 year treatment plan is going to be emotional and arduous, especially over the next 7 months, which will require Bobbie to be in Sydney, away from her loving family and home in Yass.

Ben and Elkie will be relocating to an apartment in Sydney for the next 7 months and will transit back and forth to their home in Yass to ensure their two other children Maggie (1 year old) and Max (5 year old) retain some form of normality.

Although reluctant to have a go fund me page set up, many people have reached out with offers of support. Therefore the goal is to have a platform for those of us who feel helpless to be able to assist in some way.

Any funds raised will assist with medical bills, living arrangements and any unexpected expenses that come with being away from their support network during this overwhelming and difficult time. Funds will be used in the spirit they were given and with care, respect and immense gratitude.

Ben and Elkie have stressed that they feel incredibly lucky, having a relatively good diagnosis, an amazing support network and being financially stable. There are some heartbreaking stories with families that aren’t so lucky that need the support more than they do. They urge you consider donating instead to the charities that support these sick kids in Sydney Childrens Hospital and the hospital itself.

Bobbie is a brave and courageous little girl, with a big heart. Everyone’s love, well wishes, healing thoughts and support are greatly appreciated. It's a long road ahead for little Bobbie, but our hope is to assist Ben and Elkie in any way we can.
