Bob Kessler's Campaign for ISAIAH

Bob Kessler’s 4th of July 100 Mile Bike Ride to Commemorate Vietnam Veterans
and Raise Money to Fight Racism

This upcoming July 4th will be the 50th Anniversary of my return from US Army service in Vietnam. To mark this occasion I am committed to a 100 mile bike ride to raise money to fight racism and to honor and remember all those who served and died in the Vietnam War, especially those I served with in the 4th Medical Battalion, 4th Infantry Division in Pleiku and An Khe Vietnam.

Inspired by the recent protests calling for an end to racism following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis, I decided to raise money to support the anti-racism work of ISAIAH, a powerful advocacy group that works tirelessly to fight racism and establish a multi-racial society based on peace, justice and equality.

I will start the ride on the Willard Munger bike trail in Hinckley, Minnesota just off Interstate 35 from the “Tobies” exit at 8:45 am; the approximate time on July 4th that my plane touched down at MSP airport 50 years ago.

The route will take me to Carlton, 55 miles North where I will turn around to return to the 100 mile point near where I the started in Hinckley.  I am hoping to complete the ride, including rest stops and lunch at Carlton by 4:45pm or thereabouts.

I am inviting you to pledge at least a dollar a mile.  Thank you for your support.

Appreciatively,

Bob Kessler
