On Tuesday, September 29th, 2015, the Bob White Covered Bridge in Woolwine, Virginia was washed away during torrential mountain flooding. Both a Virginia and National Historic Landmark, the 80 foot long bridge was constructed in 1921 and has served the community well. It played host to the annual Virginia Covered Bridge Festival, along with its sister bridge, Jack's Creek Covered Bridge.
Due to exorbitant construction costs and fees, the Covered Bridge Committee is accepting donations to help fund the reconstruction of the beloved bridge.
Please donate to help rebuild this beautiful, historical structure, one of only 8 remaining covered bridges in Virginia. The bridge will be rebuilt with timber cut to match the original design and lumber. Original boards from the bridge still remain and will be made into a beautiful replica and historical kiosk to be found on site.
Donations can be made at GoFundMe.com or mailed to Woolwine RFR Covered Bridge Committee, P.O Box 275, Woolwine, VA 24185.
The Covered Bridge Committee is asking you to help rebuild Bob White Covered Bridge!
