I am raising money to help out with medical bills and also for a celabratory trip to Disney World when I am cancer free.
My cancer journey started with a routine physical where it was discovered that my iron levels were very low. Upon further testing I was diagnosed with Colo/Rectal cancer, had a major surgery the Friday before Easter, spent a week in the hospital where the doctor gave us the news that the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes. A second surgery was perfomed to put a port in so I can recieve chemo. I have had three of four rounds of chemo to be followed by six weeks of daily radiation to be folowd up with more chemo. Two months after I am finished wth my last chemo I will be able to have another surgery to put me back together.
I was let go from my job ten days prior to my diagnosis and my husband is self employed so we are paying for our health insurance on our own as well as all other expences this has put a huge strain on us financially.
As for the Disney trip I was talking to my son and mentioned that we need to do something to celebrate when I am cancer free, he mentioned a family trip to Disney World that would include my mom, sister, and neice. I am hoping to be able to make this happen for us all. It will be approxamatly a year before this is all over and I thought a family vacation was a great idea.
