Noah Moore's Medical & Recovery Expenses

In November of 2013 Noah Moore started having stomach pain and bathroom issues. The pain became so intense Noah drove himself to the Emergency Room. He was admitted to the hospital for testing and later that evening he received the news that no family EVER wants to hear. Noah's colon was completely occluded with a large mass which was deemed cancerous. Noah immediately was sent to surgery to remove the mass in his colon and at that time it was discovered the cancer had spread to most of his liver. The cancerous mass was removed along with about a foot of his colon and a colostomy was placed. The surgery and recovery was tough on Noah, but he is a warrior and made it through. It was then decided he would undergo chemotherapy to reduce the size of the multiple tumors on his liver.
Chemotherapy was not an easy road traveled, but again in true Noah fashion along with his strong Faith and his family by his side he conquered the treatments. The tumors shrunk and Noah was able to go to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for a portal vein embolization (Google it).
Basically, the doctors wanted to starve the right side of his liver, where the tumors were, to force the left side of the liver to grow and replace the diseased liver. Amazingly, in a short period of time the left side of the liver grew enough to where the doctors could remove the diseased portion of the liver and Noah could still thrive.
In June of 2014, Noah and his wife Stephanie traveled to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for Noah's liver resection surgery and to have his colostomy reversed. The liver resection alone lasted approximately 8 hours and was extremely complicated; more complicated than the doctors had expected. Noah suffered a great amount of blood loss during the surgery; however the surgery was successful, but the doctors decided to abandon reversing the colostomy because Noah's body wouldn't be able to take it.
The doctor's anticipated Noah's hospital recovery time to be 7 to 10 days. However, that was not the case. Noah's time in the hospital was full of major ups and downs and he ended up staying at Barnes for 30 days.
Noah was discharged home on July 11, 2014 where he continues his recovery as the remaining portion of his liver grows and regenerates. Once he is strong enough, his colostomy will be reversed and he will undergo more chemotherapy to make sure there are no more cancer cells in hiding.
Noah is truly a one-of-a-kind guy! He is a loving and devoted husband to Stephanie and Father to Ethan (10-years-old) and Eli (6-years-old). Noah is also an active member of the Danvers, Illinois Community; He is a volunteer fireman and a member of the Danvers Lions Club. He is also a member of the Danvers Baptist Church. He is employed at the Illinois Eye Bank where he recovers tissue from organ donors.
Noah is always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. His motto through this whole process has been "Git R' Done 'Til There's Noah Moore!" However, the medical bills, travel, lodging and food expenses have taken a toll on Noah and his family. We truly don't know how anyone can go through something like this alone; emotionally or financially. Many of us would question God as to "Why is this happening to me?" Noah NEVER questioned and has remained STRONG in his FAITH! He is a true inspiration to
everyone he comes in contact with. Therefore, we want to lend a helping hand to Noah and his family.
