Help the Joneses go to Kenya

Donation protected
My wife Marci was born and raised in Eldoret, Kenya where her parents have served as missionaries for over thirty years. She came to the States to live full-time in the year 2000, and she always thought she would one day return to Kenya. After I met her and we married she thought I would some day get to see where she grew up. After we had children she thought they would get to see her hometown and experience what she did in her parents' house. Now it's 2014 and our family has not yet been able to travel to Kenya. I do not know if we ever will.

That is because Marci married me, a full-time student who became a pastor of a small church in rural South Dakota; I'm no entrepreneur. In our community families are used to having grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all around within minutes of their home. For Marci and our children, the cost of merely flying to Kenya to visit her parents just once amounts to well over $12,000. Could you imagine having to set aside more than 25% of your annual salary just to fly once to where your in-laws live? I've always thought I could somehow make it work out where our family could visit Marci's folks, but it just doesn't seem possible on our own. Her parents still live in the same house Marci grew up in, but they are not getting any younger. They will most likely retire in the next few years, and I fear our family's window of visiting them in Kenya is closing fast.

Would you please help me give my wife her dream of having her own family see where she grew up? I don't want to complain, because God has taken care of us well, fulfilling all of our needs and just about all of our wants too. But this is one desire deep in my wife's heart that remains unfulfilled. And I just can't fill it alone. I need your help.

Our goal is to see if we can visit in the summer of 2016. We hope also to be able to contribute to the mission work in both Kenya and Uganda while there.
