On April 21st of this year our families lives changed drastically. Connie Reybrouck a wife , mother and doting grandmother took a fall that has since removed mobility from her life and the simple tasks that we think nothing of on a day to day basis. My mother’s fall left her in a state of paralysis that was caused by a contusion to her central spinal column. The days after her initial fall was all based around keeping her blood pressure stable and blood flow to the spinal cord so it could heal and stay vascular. The doctors prepared us for the long journey and told us that surgery would be needed in the near future to decompress her spine and remove vertebrae that would allow for room for the healing to start. As a family we were all trying to stay so strong for my mother but the impact held a double negative, It was a case of extreme worry and honest facts, we were all so very scared as to what the future would hold.
Connie has since had her surgery and we see small progresses everyday as she begins to heal. The weeks before her surgery my mother had 3 hours of physical therapies and occupational therapies every day. To date we are trying to get back to that regimen and continue to build small successes that will bring her home to us again. We have been at the hospital six weeks as of right now. My family has been blessed with wonderful doctors and nurses that have become part of our extended family. The outpouring of support from family and friends as well has kept her strong and motivated and mentally on a path to reach her goals and play with her precious grandbaby Emma Grace again.
Please help support our mission to bring her home. We will be needing to build an addition that will accommodate her needs such as a bathroom and shower stall. The hospital bills are starting to pour in and we are working diligently to stay a float of them. Any and all help is a blessed thing, and we ask you now to come and support this cause.
