Help 4 Hank

Hello friends! This is Hank our 7 month old beloved german shepherd puppy! About 6 weeks ago Hank had an unfortunate accident and slipped between some deck-like steps and broke his upper left arm in two places. This required emergency surgery where they placed a plate and screws in his arm with a 6 week recovery period and a 97% chance of a full recovery. This was an extremely expensive surgery but of course we wanted to do anything to help our Hank. After about 5 weeks we started to notice his arm growing crooked and his limp was not getting better. At his 6 week follow up appointment we came to find out that Hank's arm had healed fine where the break was but the growth plate had been damaged in the initial break causing his arm to grow crooked with calcium build up. This was completely unforeseeable and was not caused by any fault of ours or the doctor. This is such a rare occasion that the doctor has never even actually seen this type of malformation in his own practices. Apparently we came out of this on the 3%.

In order to correct his arm he needs another $3,000 surgery. If he does not get the surgery he will continue to have a limp and within 2-4 years he will develop arthritis that will become so severe that he won't be able to walk on it because of the pain. We want him to live a long and healthy life but the amount of debt we are in from his first surgery is tremendous. This is a difficult decision to make but we are trying to do everything we can to help our baby. He is a great dog! He is extremely loyal and loving and everyone who meets him just loves him! Please help us give our Hanky a better life! Every dollar gets us closer so please spread the word!!
