Keeping A Family Together

First, let me start off by saying this is not a scam. I set a low goal for the time being to see what the future has in store for my sister's family. My name is Carissa Massia and I am doing this to relieve some burden and stress on my sister, Frankki Massia and her partner, Dylan Hoover's lives during a very difficult time.

On July 10th 2014, Frankki had an emergency C-section due to low levels of amniotic fluid and gave birth to Aubree Lynn, 3 weeks premature. Shortly after Aubree was born, the doctors diagnosed her with Turner syndrome, testing later confirmed the diagnosis. No further testing was done on Aubree and she was discharged from CPH on Saturday, July 12th.

On Sunday July 13th shortly before noon, Aubree took a turn for the worse. She began gasping for air and turning cold. Frankki and Dylan rushed her to the ER. The staff at CHMC stablized her but the NICU team from Upstate Medical in Syracuse were called in to transport Aubree. She was in critical condition.

Once Aubree arrived at Upstate and testing was performed, it was found that she also has Hypoplastic Left Heart syndrome. She would need 3 Open Heart surguries in the 1st year of her life however; she needed to improve because she was still on the ventilator. It was also found that instead of 2 kidneys, Aubree has 1 horseshoe kidney. At this time, her kidney is functioning properly. The Doctors, Frankki and Dylan were supposed to start coming up with a "Game Plan" for little Aubree's surgeries yesterday, July 15th. Unfortunately there has been an unexpected set back. Aubree's bowel movements have alarmed the Doctors. They believe while she was low on oxygen that her bowels may have started to die. So the "Game Plan" has been put on hold for the time being. The Doctors have said Aubree can not have her Open Heart surgery scheduled for the middle of next week, until her bowels show signs of improvement. If they do not improve by this coming weekend the prognosis is not good and I refuse to think, type or say what the final outcome will be. Aubree is a fighter and has proven so in the short time she has been with us.

A little information on the family to ease your mind. Frankki recently graduated from OFA in June 2014. Dylan is currently employed at Ansen, in Ogdensburg where the couple reside. They also have a 19 month old son, Aaden James. Frankki and Dylan are staying at the Ronald McDonald House while in Syracuse and Aaden has been staying with his Paternal Grandma in Ogdensburg. Dylan is scheduled to go back to work tomorrow, July 17th.

Any donation is appreciated and is not too small. They still have financial responsibilies to take care of while they are away, as well as food, gas and other expenses that are needed. Please help lessen the burden on this family by donating while their daughter fights for her life.

Thank you all and God Bless!
