Hoping for Home

I have recieved an invitation to apply for a permanent Australian visa - if I come up with the money before September. 
Under my current visa, I will have to leave the country on my birthday in 2015.

Having lived here for almost 5 years as an intern, Grad student, and new graduate clutching my Master's, I consider Brisbane my home. It is where my community lies, where my heart is. I came here in order to learn what I had to offer the world, and I have begun to gleen what I am capable of.

I have a special power - I make good things happen for others.

I donate my time and energy to individuals, fundraisers, community events, creative projects, and non-profit organisations. I have successfully advocated for children and elderly people in need, such as sourcing donated equipment to allow an elderly man to bathe safely, or working with the city to enable a widow safe access to the sidewalk outside of her gate. I have collaberated in fundraisers for groups such as the Red Cross, Queensland Aids Council, Butterfly Foundation, The Breast Council Foundation, Brisbane Domestic Violence Service and Brisbane Rape and Incest Survivors Support Centre. I have organised many arts events for the community, and worked with friends to make their ideas a reality. Each of these experiences have been emotionally rewarding, and have allowed me to live a life I value. 

This time, I am trying to make something good happen for me - but I need your help.
