Atiya Christie-Smith is a child of God who believes that, "in all these things she is more than a conqueror through Him that loved us".
Early in 2017, she was faced with a decision to have what was supposed to be a normal myomectomy surgery to remove fibroids. However, the results from that was abnormal and she was referred to an oncologist.
With her own family history of breast cancer his recommendation was to do a BRCA gene testing for the breast cancer gene which turned out negative. Praise the Lord!
However, further testing revealed suspicious results and having a hysterectomy was advised.
What a decision to make, but yet she believed that God would make a way. After much prayer, she decided to have the hysterectomy only to have a cancer a diagnosis
The 2nd surgery was performed in the Bahamas but she was referred to have chemo treatments in the U.S.
Even with insurance, the medical treatment, tests, scans, travel expenses, and surgery are costly. Especially now that she had to take time off from her job and living expenses are still piling up.
Atiya is also considering Alternative Natural Therapy which is hardly covered by her insurance and will greatly appreciate any assistance that you can give. We thank you for your support in this journey and pray God's abundant blessing on each donor.
