Vengeance for Marsh Cat and Friends!

Donation protected
Think you know your neighbors? I thought I did. But this morning I found MY missing cat in THEIR backyard, stuck in a trap with tunafish and antifreeze.

Since November of last year, a total of 8 cats have mysteriously vanished from our tiny block. They were all primarily indoor cats with collars, tags, and families who adored them. The first couple of disappearances seemed coincidental. But when the third went missing, we knew something was up. Two of the cats were eventually found, but by then they were bleeding from the mouth and suffering other slow and extremely painful effects of late-stage antifreeze poisoning

With the help of the local paper, some fliers, and Channel 13 News, things eventually quieted down for a while. We all thought it might be the end of the Kinglet Street cat-killing spree but this morning proved otherwise. To think that my little Marsh Cat was right next door and just moments away from being next on that long list of cats makes my blood boil. (And to think that I've been more than neighborly to a cat killer for god knows how long is a whole other story!)

Thank God I found her alive and was able to get her to the vet in time. She will remain there at least overnight and I will update her progress.

Animal Humane Services has taken this on and a formal investigation is underway. The Suisun City PD showed up yesterday and the man was cited with felony crimes against animals and was read his rights. I should be hearing from the DA soon.

The house pictured in the background is the home of Bob and Lisa Favilla who tragically lost two cats last year.

Animals have no voice and often times are defenseless. It is our job to be their advocate and protect them from merciless acts of cruelty. After all, we are their family and they depend on us.

Marsh's story made the front page of The Daily Republic this past Thursday. And Friday, I got a call from PETA! They want to monitor the process as it unfolds.

Now that Marsh Cat's vet bills have been covered, any remaining contributions will go toward court related fees. The remainder thereafter will be given to one or more not-for-profit organization(s). I have a few in mind but I would love to hear your suggestions.

This tiny community is willing to do everything we can to make sure these horrible people will never harm another animal.

Please help us take this fight all the way!
