The Burton family is no stranger to adversity and heartache. It’s only been a few years since their son, Zayne, was diagnosed with brain cancer. But, guess what? With all odds against him, HE BEAT IT.
This time, the story is different. Zayne’s father, Chaz, is now in a fight for his own life. Chaz has lived with ulcerative colitis for most of his adult life. This is hard on the liver and over time has turned into a disease called primary sclerosis cholangitis, which attacks the liver’s bile ducts. For over six months, Chaz has not been well and has undergone countless procedures and tests to get to the root of the problem. As of yesterday, he was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, also known as bile duct cancer.
CHAZ NEEDS A LIVER TRANSPLANT & TREATMENT!
Chaz is a father to three extraordinary young men, Nevin, Colbe, and Zayne, and a husband to Lori, who is embodies the truest form of what a wife and mother should be for her family. Even in the midst of the battles they’ve faced, they remain one of the most selfless, loyal and kind-hearted families that I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Their faith is a testament and constant witness to everyone they’ve come in contact with. When most would have turned their back, they continue to TRUST and BELIEVE that God has a plan for them, even if they can’t see it.
These are the next steps for Chaz:
1. The family had had to relocate to the Jacksonville area, and Chaz is being evaluated by Mayo Clinic. Please pray this process moves along quickly and smoothly.
2. Pray for our strength and endurance as a family. To say we are OVERWHELMED and EXHAUSTED is an understatement!
Time is of the essence. Please join me in donating and spreading the word as far and wide as possible for Chaz and his family. The funds will be instrumental in covering medical bills, mortgage and car payments, travel expenses, food, insurance, you name it. Every little bit helps. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of our love and support.
