Prospero is dedicated to helping these two Hospitals thrive. This fundraiser will be partnered with our Annual Wine Competition Dinner and we will be matching 100% of all donations that are received from now until then. Last year we raised $9,290 and our Philanthropy Ambassador, Julian Prospero personally delivered the checks to a few special first responders! Blythedale Children's Hospital in Valhalla, NY is a longtime leader in the treatment of children recovering from brain injury, including those caused by trauma, brain tumors, stroke and disease. Traumatic and acquired brain injury treatment and recovery at Blythedale takes on a special prominence with our dedicated 18-bed TBI Unit — the only dedicated post-acute Pediatric Brain Injury Unit in New York State.
Each patient room is sound and light controlled and designed to provide the low-stimulation environment needed by patients recovering from brain injury. Because of our state-of-the-art facilities, and dedicated TBI core team — comprised of pediatricians, neurologists, physiatrists, neuropsychologists, cognitive rehabilitation therapists, rehabilitation nurses and neuroscientists — we are able to admit children earlier in the recovery phase, ensuring specialized rehabilitation can begin as soon as possible. Our customized approach addresses every aspect of a child’s recovery, with a goal of returning them to their home and community — a milestone we achieve for 91% of our young patients.
 

 

The goal at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth), is to make all children healthy and happy. Every day, the dedicated staff of physicians, nurses, allied health practitioners, technicians, and others helps us to attain that goal by providing advanced life-saving care to thousands of children in the Hudson Valley region. The mission is to set the standard for family-centered, compassionate care in a state-of-the-art environment that attracts outstanding physicians and staff, and which promotes healing, wellness, and knowledge for all children and their families. They are advocates for children's health and wellness and actively promote health education and activities within the hospital and the community at large.
