Noah's Summer With the Blue Stars

Donation protected

On November 22nd, at the conclusion my very first audition camp, I was fortunate enough to be offered a contract to march with the Blue Stars for the summer of 2015. This would mean traveling all across the United States from May until August to venues as small as schools and to venues as large as Lucas Oil Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Not only would this be an opportunity for me to spend my summer playing wonderful music and getting more in shape, but this would also be an opportunity to build priceless new bonds, develop higher levels of self discipline, and most importantly have fun educating others through music.

For those that may not know, the Blue Stars are a non-profit,  World Class drum and bugle corps established in 1964. Since formation, the Blue Stars have strived to enrich the lives of marchers and audience members alike through performance. If you have never seen a drum corps, I have included a short video clip that I believe would enlighten you. If you have experienced drum corps in any way, then I trust you know how much the experience means to anyone involved and ask you to empathize with me. Music has been so central to my identity for so long that this opportunity means more than I could possibly express through text on a screen.

With an opportunity so monumental, comes quite a monumental cost that I could not possibly cover on my own. For $3,600 dollars, I will be sheltered every night, fed 4 times a day, driven all over the US, and have the life-changing experience of learning from some of the world's finest music educators with a select group of peers for nearly 3 months. Any amount of contribution toward my efforts for financing an unforgettable summer would be appreciated. Whether your contribution be a large donation, small donation, or a signal boost, EVERYTHING counts and EVERYTHING is deeply appreciated.
