Help Blue the Horse Recover from Traumatic Injury

Hi, my name is Meredith. I'm fundraising to help a beautiful horse get a second chance at life.

My beautiful sister-in- law, Melissa, owns a horse farm in Ocala, Florida. Melissa built this farm from the ground up and has dedicated her life to the love, care, and therapy of horses.

Late at night on January 31, a deranged individual trespassed onto the property and released horses into the road. There currently is a manhunt underway for this individual for multiple felonies. Tragically, Melissa's beloved horse, Mr. Blue Eyes, was struck by oncoming traffic and suffered devastating injuries. We didn't know if he would survive.

Mr. Blue Eyes, or "Blue" as his family lovingly calls him, is an 8 year old thoroughbred that is gorgeous, talented, and athletic. Blue has a larger-than-life personality that puts a smile on the face of anyone who meets him.

Glory to God that Blue has survived! While he has pulled through from critical condition, Blue's injuries are severe and will take months of special care and different therapies for a chance at full recovery. Blue's biggest injury is the trauma sustained to his chest from the direct impact with the vehicle. This may take up to 6 months to completely heal. Blue will require medication, daily care, medical treatment, and therapy throughout that time. The medical bills already are in the thousands of dollars and are expected to continue to grow as we fight to save Blue's life and help him recover.
