The Blue Dragon Academy is a non-profit 501c3 formed on January 1, 2017.
The community of Garretson previsouly had two 501c3 daycares which were in dire need of improvements. The combined capacity was 80 children.
On January 1, 2017 the two daycares combined into one called Blue Dragon Academy.
The Blue Dragon Academy has plans to build a new facility with an ultimate capacity of 101 children. We hope to begin construction in 2018 but need help meeting our fundraising goal.
Adequate daycare is essential in serving the existing families in Garretson and bringing new families to town. We have, on multiple occasions, lost families to other communities because of the lack of adequate daycare.
We believe strongly there are three key elements to growing our community. Adequate housing, a great school system, and adequate daycare. These are all very interdependent. We have a great school system. New housing is in the works but without added daycare capacity, new families will be limited.
