Blossom's Dental Surgery Fund

Hello everyone! Blossom story time!

In the Summer of 2011, Nick and I decided to rescue a cat named Blossom on the "e-list" at the Berkeley animal shelter. Although she was incredibly stressed out in the shelter environment, once she was in a home she relaxed and her true personality came through. She is a curious explorer who loves boxes and cubbies the most, follows you around everywhere like a dedicated personal assistant, and is the most persistent lap cat you'll ever meet. Needless to say, I fell in love with her and adopted her, and she's been with me ever since.

Since she's become a senior kitty, I've been treating various ailments that have come up over the years--including chronic kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, and hypertension. But recently, I learned that she also has feline oral resorptive lesions, a very painful dental disease that causes her teeth to start dissolving. 

I've been giving her medication to manage the pain, but my vet told me that she needs dental surgery by a board-certified dental specialist. I had a consultation with the specialist last week and I'm working with her to schedule the surgery. In the meantime, I've been quoted at about $4,000.00 for the procedure. I want to have the surgery done as soon as possible, so Blossom can recover, be pain-free, and get back to her cheerful self again. 

I know once I graduate from school I'll be better able to handle costs like this, but without income things have been a little scary. Any little bit you can give is incredibly helpful and deeply appreciated.
