Dear family and friends,
2017 has been an especially rough year for my parents, the Blodgett family, and so I turn to you for some help and support. Back in January of this year my father, John, was diagnosed with end stage liver diseases, meaning his liver is unable to process fluids. This left him weak, tired, fail, and unable to work. Shortly after he was diagnosed, he lost his job for this very reason. My mother, Colleen, has since been struggling to care for him as well as be the sole financial pillar. She works long hard days and finds it hard to keep up with things around the house due to her fibromyalgia and a physical handicap of her own, which leaves her in chronic pain. Because of all of this, things around the house have started to really build up and unfortunately have grown beyond their control. My parents live in a small trailer park, and this morning they received a notice from management that they have till September 21st to either clean the place up or be evicted from their home.
My parents are collectors, so there are lots of items that need to be hauled away. The front steps of their house are in decay and need replacement. There is a leak in the roof that needs repair. Bushes and trees need trimming. Unfortunately these are all things beyond their ability to fix on their own and professional haulers, cleaners, and landscapers are needed to get the place back in order.
I’m estimating that the cost of having a hauling company come out could be around $600, landscaping around $200, the stairs around $200, and the roof has been quoted around $1,000 for repair. These repairs and cleaning need to be done before Thursday the 21st.
Any donation or help, big or small, is much appreciated by the entire family. We plan to be cleaning and hauling this coming week so if you can’t offer financial help but still would like to assist, we welcome helping hands!
