BLINKERS TURNS 2!

Time to celebrate another trip around the sun as Blinkers turns 2!
Unfortunately, our in-person annual Birthday Party fundraiser has been cancelled due to COVID-19. Instead, we are asking for your support through this GoFundMe Campaign!

What this fundraiser is for:
100% of the funds raised will go towards the operation and improvement of Blinkers. Our annual operating expenses include rent ($17,010.00), liability insurance and alarm monitoring ($936.96), phone/internet bills ($940.20), and general maintenance costs (paint and building materials, cleaning supplies, etc.)

Blinkers is a non-profit organization, and is run by a group of passionate volunteers. We have no paid staff, in order to keep our operating costs as low as possible. As a relatively new gallery, we are unable to qualify for the type of regular operational funding from government agencies that many charities and artist-run spaces rely on to keep open. While we actively apply for all of the grants we are eligible for, we are limited to funding for individual projects.

Your support will help us transition into our third year stronger than ever so that we can continue supporting emerging visual artists in Winnipeg and beyond!

Blinkers Art & Project Space is a non-profit project space based in Winnipeg on Treaty 1 territory. We started Blinkers in 2017 as a collaborative project run by emerging artists Kristina Banera, Hannah Doucet, John Patterson and Rachael Thorleifson. Blinkers collaborates with artists in the form of exhibitions, performances, talks, publications, and workshops to create an engaged community of artists and participants in, and expanding from, Winnipeg, Canada.

Our organization is run by four co-directors and a number of amazing volunteers. Blinkers does not receive operational funding, the organization is paid for by its four co-founders and by the generous donations by our community. We would like to thank our community, volunteers, and donors for their continued support of Blinkers, for without you we wouldn't exist!

Your support means so much to Blinkers. As we move into our third year as a space, we hope to expand our programming in new ways, make the space more accessible than ever, and continue to highlight the work of important artists from Winnipeg and across Canada.
