The Nelson Disc Golf Society (NDGS) is raising money for an 18 hole disc golf course in Blewett  - to open in the Summer of 2021.  The course will be located midway between Nelson and Castlegar on 9 hectares of rolling land off Blewett Road (Location Map ).

The course layout will offer a variety of open and guarded shots playing uphill and downhill.  The layout is designed for both professional level competition and long term re-play value for the local community.  This will be the lowest-elevation course in the West Kootenays and will be playable for FREE 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year.  This south-facing site gets lots of afternoon sun, and moderate winds are prevalent.   New players will enjoy frequent 'aceable' holes featuring significant downhill elevation lines; and advanced players will enjoy testing their distance on long 'bomber' shots. This course has something for everyone, and planned future development of alternate tee-pad and basket placements will further enhance the value of this course for both casual players and professionals.

Course Hardware

You will tee off from 5'x10' concrete pads!
After much investigation the NDGS decided that it has to be concrete. Concrete pads are the safest, most durable option that will offer great playing conditions even in the snow.   We can't wait for you to come play them!

Professionally designed course signage!
Navigational course signage designed by Houck will allow players to easily navigate hole-to-hole through this sprawling course.  Signage is our way of sharing the course and making sure that all new visitors can easily find their way and feel at home.

THE BASKETS!!!
The NDGS is committed to making this a 'premier' course and so we are going with the best possible baskets we can.  The DiscCatcher Pro28 is the best basket on the market and that is what we are bringing to Blewett for your enjoyment :)

Our Community Vision
The Nelson Disc Golf Society works to build a vibrant multi-generational disc golf community throughout the West Kootenays, with courses accessible from every town.  We want to build a regional disc golf scene that includes multiple annual tournaments and events, provides programming for youth, and attracts players from other parts of Canada to visit our local courses.  We want to support competitive players and encourage the growth of the next generation of athletes.  We want to encourage new people try disc golf, and strive to develop a disc golf community that is open to all people.

This is the final push - please help us make it happen.
The Blewett Disc Golf Course will be open to the public for FREE 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year.   Ongoing land use fees, property taxes, maintenance and insurance costs are significant, and NDGS must establish this required funding before opening the course.   Your money will help open this course to the public!
