Marion, IL Basement Relief Fund

I’d like to introduce you to my parents.  My father is a retired machinist and a decorated Veteran and mom is a semi-retired insurance professional.  They are both God fearing Christians who look out for their family and don’t hesitate to help someone in need.  They live a modest life doing what they can to maintain, but now are in need of some help.

Recently, a wall in the basement of their home collapsed and the basement is full of dirt, mud and other debris.  Through the grace of God, the house is still standing.  So far, the furnace still functions, but has sustained damage and is also in need of repair.  Unfortunately, there is no easy or inexpensive remedy to this and we just found out the insurance company has denied the claim for repairs.

Friends and family have come together to help however they can, but without insurance coverage, we’re not able to make the home whole again without further assistance.  The basement is exposed to weather and other intrusions and is in desperate need of repair as soon as possible. 

I understand sometimes there is not enough help for everyone, but as long as I can remember, my parents have “paid it forward”, sometimes sacrificing some for themselves to ensure others are taken care of.  Mom always tells me “you have to bless others in order to receive your blessing”.    Please do what you can to help, not only to bless them, but to receive yours.  We are eternally grateful for your help.
