Hi. My name is Penny. My son recently joined the Navy in January 2020. He is currently deployed on a ship. According to a USA TODAY article posted in Oct, 2020, the active duty military suicide rate was at a six-year high in 2019 and they suspect Covid will drive that number even higher. In an attempt to boost morale, I have begun collecting names and addresses of sailors and soldiers who don't receive support & encouragement from home. These brave men & women work 12 + hour days, seven days/week, in hot and uncomfortable environments, and in hostile enemy territories-away from their families for holidays and extended periods of time. I aim to offer HOPE, ENCOURAGENT, and GRATITUDE for these brave men & women sacrificing for our freedom and safety. "You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give. Don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves the person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others." (2 Corinthians 9: 7-8) I collect items to send or you can use this GoFundMe to donate to snacks, packaging and shipping costs, or to donate towards the care items I send them. If you would like to donate items, such as non-perishable snacks, black boot socks, personal hygiene products, or lightweight magazines, books, cards/games then please email me at [email redacted] so we can coordinate a pick up or drop off time. MAY God bless your generosity! THANK YOU!!!
