On June 5, 2014....Kenneth was working on a roof of a greenhouse when he fell through it. He broke his shoulder blade and fractured his spine at L1/T12 causing him to be paralyzed from hip down. He was flown to Shands in Gainesville where he had surgery and had 4 titanium rods and 8 screws put in to fuse the spine together. We were told by the nuerosurgeons that he would most likely never walk again. We spent 4 weeks at Shands then was transferred to an amazing Rehabilition Center called Shepherds in Atlanta, Ga. We stayed there for another 4 weeks. Kenneth worked extremely hard in therapy and they also taught him how to live independantly in the wheelchair. He has now got some movement back in his left leg but still has nothing in both his feet or his right leg.

On July 29th we were discharged and we are now back home. Kenneth is a very determined man and will never give up on the hopes of walking again someday!

For all of you who have been asking how you can help out, this is a great way to do that. We are now back home and learning how to adjust to a very different way of living. My employer decided to let me go which now leaves us with NO income until December when his disability starts coming in. This money will help with gas, food, bills and other expenses. We are very thankful for all your help and support. God Bless you all!
