BLCI Renewable Scholarship Program

Barrio Logan College Institute is a community organization dedicated to promoting higher education as a ticket out of the cycle of poverty. 100% of the students accepted into BLCI's program go on to college, 81% to 4 year universities and 19% to 2 year community college programs. Without programs like BLCI the current percentage of adults with college degrees in Barrio Logan is less than 3%. Each year BLCI accepts students into its after school program and mentors them beginning in the 3rd grade and all the way through high school. The goal of the program is for all of its students to attend college. I have had the honor of meeting the staff of BLCI and seeing just how dedicated they are when it comes to the success of each and every one of their students.
