Black x Change

I'm not the greatest at asking for money.  But this is way bigger than my pride. And this is way bigger than me.  This is for my community.  Who: Glenn P Dalcourt II What: Black X-change mobile app  When: 8-10 weeks Where: Louisville ( and eventually nationwide) Why: To promote and build the Black community economically How: iOS and Android app development I've envisioned and designed a mobile app named Black X-Change that puts Black Businesses right into consumer's hands. Black X-Change presents local businesses and their discounts to consumers.  "The goal is not for you to eat more. The goal is for everyone to eat." Vision: This vision, in the form of an mobile app, is to empower the Black Community where it is lacking in the present. The Black Community, to grow its economy, needs to close the leaks in its circulation of money. That means that consumers of all demographics, Blacks and allies, should be incentivized to buy Black and Black Businesses should grow their respective enterprise and reinvest into the Black Community.  Black X-change is driven by ease of use and convenience for the consumer. (No more sharing Facebook posts with local Black businesses that'll only be seen in Facebook memories in years to come.) The app is innovative and does not re-invent the wheel. I cannot disclose at this time detailed features.  Finances: On a macro level the expenses for Black X-Change are predominantly in development phase. The stream of revenue is through advertisements, donations, and other forms of fundraising.  Portions of revenue are to be reinvested back into the community so that this platform can meet the expectation being set forth for Black Businesses.  Accountability regarding reinvestment into the community is to be set as an ethical expectation for any business using this platform.  I will assist in facilitating awareness about this expectation and the execution of this expectation.  Black X-Change is a Black-owned business and it will meet those same expectations.  Benefits: The ultimate goal of Black X-Change is to grow the economy within the Black Community. The intent is to grow the sense of ownership within the community. The intent is improve the state of the Black Community through economic power that we all as consumers possess. The intent is to exercise that power for the betterment of the community.  We can no longer view ourselves as individuals fighting for equality and freedom.  We are ONE people.
