Blackstairs Nature Biodiversity Day 2021

Donation protected
Blackstairs Nature is a small but passionate group of volunteers working together for biodiversity. Our vision is to protect, conserve, restore and enhance our uplands in a sustainable manner which benefits biodiversity, climate change and the local community.

We set out to arrange a meeting to celebrate the rich biodiversity of our Blackstairs Mountains Uplands and our meeting was originally timed to coincide with the COP15 Convention on Biological Diversity which has since been deferred to 2022, but we've decided to forge ahead with our plan anyhow as we feel that nature can't wait!
The inaugural Blackstairs Nature Biodiversity Day 2021 will take place at Huntington Castle, Clonegal, Co. Carlow on October 16th, 2021.

The support for the event is unprecedented and given the COVID context we need to live stream to involve a wider audience – a victim of our own success! ;-)
Many of the contributors have generously agreed to waive or significantly reduce their fees in order to support the event so we are now fund raising to support the additional event fees, ensuring the greatest audience reach and legacy impact as we will make the post event recordings available online and are not charging to view/participate live on-line on the day as such providing access to the event to as many people as possible.
