“Black Panther: Forming a Tribe for our Youth”

My name is Brandon Cj Shaw and I am the organizer for this campaign . I am a Memphis native with a background in mentoring and community organizing. I have done film screenings for youth and community and thought this would be a good way to provide an opportunity for the youth to do something entertaining , other than being involved in crime or trapped in their neighborhoods. The people who donate to this page mainly are sponsoring any child to go and we really appreciate the support we’ve gotten so far .
Our goal is to provide an opportunity for community members and especially youth to attend a screening of the Marvel film Black Panther , in the midst of friends and family. The funds received through gofundme will be used to pay for 150 tickets at the Malco Stage Cinema theater on Saturday February 17,2018. The people who benefit from this will be the youth in Memphis who get a chance to see a movie they like at an affordable price , their parents , friends of the parents , community members , and members of the organizations sponsoring the event .
We have not assessed who all will be attending the event yet, although we have generated a registration page with stipulations on the amount of tickets that can be received by one person. At this point in our campaign , we can buy tickets for 28 people , we will shortly begin asking people interested in going to the movie to reserve their spot on the registration page.
