BlackPAC Goes To Black Panther

BlackPAC is deeply committed to building bigger, brighter futures for our children. That’s why we do this work: to lay the groundwork for growing Black political power for generations to come.

With your help, BlackPAC is raising money to send young people from two communities where we focused our electoral work in 2017 – Hampton Roads, Virginia and Mobile, Alabama – to see the new superhero movie Black Panther.

Besides providing an important opportunity for youth of color to see themselves represented as superheroes, warriors and leaders fighting for liberation, Black Panther offers a chance to give these young kids a great time. We hope that you will chip in.

All contributions will be split  between the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Alabama and Teens with a Purpose  and will go toward the cost of the movie ticket and refreshments for children and their chaperones.

Black Panther will be released on February 16 - and we hope to reach our fundraising goal of $1500 by then.

Approximate Cost Breakdown
$11.00 per child ticket
$13.00 per chaperone ticket
$10 refreshments per person

About Teens with a Purpose:
Teens With a Purpose (TWP) is a peer-led, 501(C)(3) non-profit organization serving schools, churches and communities in Norfolk, Virginia Beach and across the Hampton Roads Region. Creatively cultivating the next generation of leaders is at the heart of our mission. As youth and families come to Teens With a Purpose (TWP) for help, we give them hope; we highlight their strengths; we support and encourage, as they transform their lives and communities.

About the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Alabama:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Alabama's vision is to provide a world-class club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

About BlackPAC:
BlackPAC’s mission is to galvanize the political power of Black voters. Driven by opinion research and in-depth conversations with voters on the doors, BlackPAC is building a base of knowledge on the issues, values, and messages that most effectively motivate Black people to vote. Additionally, by identifying and training the next generation of activists and political organizers, BlackPAC is rallying Black voters around an agenda to dismantle structural racism and increase social and economic opportunity. It played an integral role mobilizing Black voters in Virginia and Alabama last year.
