Black Oak Wilderness School by Dane

Hi! I'm Dane Nelson. I've been a wilderness first responder for 2 years, a survival instructor for over 10 years, and I'm a licensed back country guide.  I am working very hard towards taking what I've learned and starting my own teen and adult wilderness school. The money donated here will benefit my students by allowing me to purchase the necessary insurance, tools, and supplies to make the programs function. I need to purchase a small amount of archery equipment, fishing rods, tools for bow making/knife making/leather working, knives for my students to use and care for, sharpening stones, an axe for splitting firewood, and medical supplies. It will also help me make classes and workshops more accessible to folks who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend or participate in what I consider to be a most important opportunity to grow in confidence and in relationship with the disapearing natural world. My goal is to raise enough by January to focus my energy entirely on these programs and make myself more available as a teacher and mentor. These classes require a lot of time outside of class for me to find the resources students need for projects, prepare lessons, reserve campsites, and keep up with registration and scheduling. Your support would mean that I can put the full force of my energy into making these classes and workshops of the utmost quality and accessiblity.
