Blackfeet Nation Saint Demetrios

Tax deductible
Dear friends,

This summer, we nine parishioners, seven high schoolers and two adult chaperones, from Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Weston, Massachusetts, will have the privilege to serve the people of the Blackfeet Nation. From July 18 to July 26, the group will stay on the Browning, Montana, reservation, where the unemployment rate is 70% and more than 40% of the population suffers from addiction. Simply put, these people need dire assistance, and we volunteers will provide it; through construction projects, including the assembly of a playground and the renovation of a homeless shelter, mentoring opportunities with the children, and engagement with the community at large, the nine of us will improve the situation infinitely. Our group will focus especially on roof repair following ravaging winter storms.

All money raised through this effort will go directly toward travel, lodging, and, most importantly, building supplies. Donations through the non-profit organizing the trip, YOCAMA , are tax-deductable to the fullest extent of the law. We will upload pictures throughout the week so that you can track your generosity at work!

We are grateful for any donation made. Thank you for considering our efforts as representative of a world in which you wish to live.
