I am Timothy they/them. I am gender non conforming-trans and have been both outted and voluntarily came out over time. I am fundraising because Steve Darwin of Darwin’s Coffee shop fired me on October 19th from the Putnam Avenue store after I refused service to an old white man not wearing a mask. I was also injured on the job days before and my doctor had workplace safety concerns that I echoed. I dealt with a white male coworker discussing fisting while eating a raspberry lintzer cookie behind me. I dealt with an antagonistic manager who from day one did not like me mentioning race though discussing strip clubs and more was common practice. The predominant white staff played n word littered rap music for the predominant white store and I received no response after sending a store wide complaint. I was the only Black employee at that store. Investigative attorney for Human Rights Commission City of Cambridge has issued my complaint and now an investigation begins. I am thankful to trans emergency fund for their support and SURF Boston. I need legal defense money and sustenance money for rent through January and aide for winter affirming clothing as well. Resources needed community to visit with and check in on me regularly, Thanksgiving support, holiday support, any lawyers reading yes step up. I am disabled so typing can be a lot complaint below.
