hi everyone, i’m a 22 year old bi black non-binary college student. i will be full-time in the fall and am struggling to stay afloat right now.
i’ve been struggling with my mental health since i was 15, didn’t start going to therapy till i was 19 and have been in + out for the last three years. it’s been a long road to recovery dealing with depression + anxiety but it all came to a head the night george floyd died. prior to his death i had been taking my meds consistently and having telehealth sessions with my therapist bi weekly, i was making real progress in spite of the grip COVID had on the world and my own personal life.
the night george died however, all that came crashing down. that was the latest i’d stayed up since i started taking my meds (when the year had started), while i struggled with taking them consistently i did notice improvements in my physical health. namely increasing my appetite and my sleep. i only got 4-5 hours of sleep every night in 2019, all that stopped when i got on my meds.
id forgotten to take my meds the day of his death, and as the days went on. i kept forgetting until i was knee deep in a depressive episode. it caused me to miss work for a full month, on top of minimizing my appetite to the point of me eating once every 2/3 days. when my appetite did return, i never had enough food to make a meal for myself so i was forced to eat out which really put me in a bad spot with my cards. now i’ve hit my limit on both and am i need serious help paying them off.
i was forced to quit my job a month due to how many days i’ve missed. i’m currently filing for unemployment and looking for a new job that would better accommodate me. i will also be moving at the end of this month and want to be sure i have enough to cover my rent so i won’t have to worry about it as well as essentials (meds, bills, groceries etc)
if i manage to exceed my limit, any extra donations i get will be redistributed
