Black Power Capitol Hill Art Installation

In support of dismantling systemic racism, we have committed our efforts as builders to erect a 30-foot wooden raised fist to hold permanent space in the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP). We are honored to be a part of this local and global action to elevate BIPOC voices that have been silenced – commemorating the power of this movement as edifices of those responsible for silencing are torn down. 

We are deeply grateful to all who have participated and supported the development of this structure, in particular the community that is hosting us here in CHOP and working tirelessly to uphold its mission. Thank you to Rich, Raven, the team at Oma Bap, and everyone who checked us out or offered to help – it’s been incredible to feel supported in our contribution.
