Want to join the Black Mothers Forum in creating safe, innovative and supportive learning environments for our children? We are raising money to benefit the development of our Microschools (10 student schools), Parent Advocacy and Skills Training Programs. Black Mothers Forum, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona with affiliate offices in Shreveport, Louisiana. We as Black mothers came together on August 7, 2016 for our first Black Mothers Forum meeting. Our focus is on addressing the many concerns about the safety and welfare of our Black families.

 

“We needed to start at the school level because this is where it begins...somewhere [kids] lost their desire to learn, somewhere there was a failure, a breakdown, a breach and we determined that was in the school. Our focus is to address the school to prison pipeline...we all determined we needed to get educated and organized to save the lives of our babies.” quoted from Woods.

 

Parents like our founder Janelle Woods and other women of Black Mothers Forum are “determined to create safe and supportive learning environments for our children who are on the path to educational excellence,” and we are doing just that. We launched our first microschools in August 2021, and we continue to expand in reaching our goal of 50 micro schools beginning in Arizona, Louisiana, and soon across the U.S.

 

Why should you donate?

Educating our children helps to reduce the need to fund more prisons. We want to dismantle the systems that have adversely impacted our Black community, and begin to create safe and supportive environments for our children and families to thrive academically, economically, socially, and all levels.

 

Our amazing team of Black mothers are committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action. Black Mothers Forum is diligently working to expand classrooms throughout the Phoenix valley and in other states to create safe, innovative and supportive learning environments for our children. Our microschools are free for our students and are funded by donations.
