Tha Hood Squad (art collective) 4 Social Change!

Donation protected
Tha Hood Squad is a socially conscious art collective. Our collective is made up mostly of performing actors, visual artists, musicians, photographers, illustrators and sculptors. We volunteer our time to feed the hungry families, seniors, and homeless. We also support and led protests issues dealing with Police terrorism, deportation, gentrification and mass incarceration. Our protests on the peninsula have ranged from 300 to 1k people. They were all peaceful extremely well organized and safe for children and seniors. We have been build a movement on the Peninsula and are starting to hold culturally based events to build community and activism (ie Juneteenth 2020 where we are honoring 2020 black graduates) We have been paying out of pocket, selling eggs, t-shirts, and art trying to fund all of our social justice activism and events.

We are starting a go fund me so we can get supplies we need, equipment like bicycles (to support marches), a delivery van (to allow us to delver more food and take all of our volunteers in one vehicle), food, water, spices, fuel to get to protests in other areas, support for a News platform we are creating.

We not only serve the vulnerable populations on the Peninsula but also tent encampments in Oakland. We need your help to do more and become a more stable source for aid.  In addition to food we pass out other items that are essential Ie masks and clothing etc.  We not only champion hungriness but also social justice trying to bring more Love, peace, unity, balance and harmony into our world. Please support us!

WE MET OUR INITIAL GOAL OF 15K THANK YOU!! WE BUT TOGETHER WE CAN AND SHOULD DO MORE!!

We have been able to partner with a donor that is willing to add to the food we already create from our farm. We want to add additional routes, and increase the volume of people we can serve.  We bought a freezer and still need more order to maintain our volume.
We want to build our capacity to reach more folks in Oakland and on the Peninsula as well as parts of SJ. We regularly need supplies like water, food, spices, cooking oil, propane for our grill, fuel for the van, and gear for our News platform.  We want to increase the amount of clothing we can pass out, masks, hygiene products, hand sanitizers. We want to buy coloring books for the children and markers. Lets go after our this quest of compassion with intensity and passion. Together we can make a change!! Together we can give our world a fresh start.

UpDate 12/10/20

WE GOT OUR SECOND VAN from a donation outside of this GoFundME campaign we are SO GRATEFUL!! That Van is currently being used to bring food and supplies to Skid Row and service Southern California by our Southern chapter in N. Hollywood

We spend about $1,000-$1500 per week in supplies, food and water for people from Salinas to N. Oakland.
We do about 1200 meals in a single Saturday.  MORE than ANY other mutual aide group of our size in the bay area.
We are currently only accepting donations on this Gofundme for that purpose. Simply to keep the wheels of Social Change moving.

Our 501c3 has been approved and we now have the ability to do tax free donations if you would like to give tax free contributions please let us know so we can accommodate your needs. Unfortunately there may not be a way to change this Gofundme for that purpose, so keep an eye out for a new go fund me link in the updates. Unless we can modify this campaign for that reason.
