Hi,
My name is Devin Guillory, and I'm an Artificial Intelligence (AI) researcher who is passionate about supporting and enhancing diversity and inclusion in AI. I'm contacting you on behalf of Black in AI , an organization focused on sharing ideas, fostering collaborations, and discussing initiatives to increase the presence of Black people in AI. Members of Black in AI are currently raising money for the organization's first conference workshop that will be held at NIPS on December 8, 2017. At this workshop, Black AI researchers from around the world will have the opportunity to not only share their work, but also learn about others' research. The event will host over 200 Black AI researchers from 23 countries and 5 continents and will include discussions with prominent researchers, oral presentations, and a poster session.
We are excited to bring together so much promise and potential from across the globe and hope that you will be willing to contribute to such a worthwhile event. Specifically, we would greatly appreciate any donations to help cover travel expenses for some of our attendees. Currently, these expenses are being covered out of pocket by some of the event organizers. It would be great to be able to pay these organizers back for their unyielding dedication to this event, but we cannot do so without your help!
