I am a 3rd grade teacher in inner city Minneapolis. Unfortunately one the students in my class has recently gone through a massive tragedy. A 22 year old family member passed away of a heart attack and most of the kids were home at the time to witnessed this horrible heartbreak . A little back story: The mom and dad of my student were compassionate enough to take in this 22 year old and her brother after their mom passed away several years ago.
Christmas is supposed to be an exciting and joyful time of year, but for this family what they had saved up for Christmas presents, is now being used for a funeral that will be held next Monday. (One week before Christmas)
In the last week and a half since her passing, amazingly, all of the school-aged children have still been coming to school with a positive and ready to learn attitude. They are all such kind, loving, and appreciative kids that deserve a Christmas.
I'm hoping to reach my goal by Friday Decemeber 22. I'm going shop for all of the kids next weekend and deliver the presents to the family on Christmas Eve. PLEASE consider donating any amount of money to the kids in this family so that they can all have smiles on Christmas morning. They have 8 children, ages 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14, & 15. If you can’t donate please share this with your friends, families, companies, and churches so that we can make the holidays happen for these kids! Anything will help!
