Hello family. I'm writing and asking for help from y'all because I have seen the power that comes from my community and beyond...
I'm currently trying to be financially independent in order to get out of a harmful situation. I am a 5th year American studies major and United States Latino/a studies minor - I am graduating Spring 2019. I am the Indigenous Community Organizing Student Intern at MICA (Multicultural Involvement and Advocacy) office at University of Maryland. It has been a hard road getting to my graduation date, many of you helped me continue my education few years ago when my registration was going to be terminated.
If I’ve ever shed light and helped to inform your perspective, then I ask you to support me as I endeavor to continue doing this work. Your support will help me finish my undergrad degree so I can continue researching, organizing, representing marginalized communities, especially undocumented, Latinx, and Indigenous folx.
I am a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipient, a first generation immigrant. I would not be here if it wasn't for my chosen family and the dreams of my parents. I will finish what I set out to do, no matter how long it takes.
The amount that I need, cover's my tuition fees for the rest of fall semester and the entirety of spring semester, as well as my rent for where I currently live.
Thank you for reading. La lucha sigue.
